After the closure of Pharmacy Restaurant & Bar (1997-2003), Sotheby’s hosted a comprehensive auction of the contents of the Notting Hill restaurant designed by Hirst. This is a signed copy of the original catalogue.
The 166 lots included tableware, furniture and wallpaper from the restaurant, as well as original artworks. Alongside spot paintings, butterfly monochromes and ‘Medicine Cabinets’ were unique sculptures such as ‘The Molecular Structure’ (1997-1998), a large minimally coloured, fibreglass model that had been the restaurant’s focal piece.
